Rockville, MD – September 24, 2018 – Greenberg Advisors’ CEO, Brian Greenberg, participated in an M&A-focused panel at the recent Becker’s 4th Annual Health IT and Revenue Cycle conference in Chicago.
The panel, called Investing in Health IT and Revenue Cycle Companies, was moderated by Scott Becker, founder of Becker’s Healthcare and a partner at McGuireWoods. Also participating was Nader Samii of National Medical Billing Services.
The discussion among these experts covered the different methods and multiples for valuing service and technology businesses in healthcare. Greenberg drew a very clear line between the similarities and highlighted some stark differences in the way buyers value and approach each type of business.
The panelists delved into the types of buyers actively involved in M&A today, what’s driving their acquisition interests, and which offerings have been the most sought in 2018.
As Greenberg pointed out, “Financial investors represented nearly half of the transactions in the first half of 2018, which is the highest level we’ve seen in the past three to four years. This is an excellent indicator that investors are bullish about the growth of the RCM and HCIT markets, which will fuel add-on acquisition activity in the coming years.”
A lively round of Q&A closed out the session, which gave the attendees a chance to ask the industry specialists their M&A questions.
